The Technical Division operates its activities independently and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project department, finance department, and an administrative staff. Approximately 400 permanent employees work in the division. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

Nyköping Water is responsible for all water and sewage operations within the municipality, which includes the operation, maintenance, and development of water and sewage plants, pumping stations, and pipeline networks. The operations include 7 waterworks, 3 water towers, 12 sewage plants, 90 sewage pumping stations, a pipeline network of 90 miles, and its own water laboratory.

We are now looking for a measurement technician for the Pipe Network at Nyköping Water. Your main tasks will be surveying, measuring, and documentation in the water database. Welcome to a workplace with great variety!

RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer a workplace with competent and helpful colleagues. The work is varied and the tasks differ. As a Team Leader, you will:

• Work with surveying water and sewage lines and associated devices
• Set out, for example, valves, wells, and in larger projects
• Document and quality assure measurement data and enter information into the water database
• Handle leveling instruments and red laser
• Create files for machine control
• Participate in ongoing environmental work.
• Contribute to a good and safe work environment
• Be out in the field and support the operations
• Participate in ongoing quality work and operational development
• Support the Pipe Inspector and other colleagues within the operations
• Investigate existing water and sewage objects
• Maintain close cooperation and dialogue with colleagues within the operations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Vocational training or post-secondary education in measurement technology, cartography, and GIS, or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience in field measurement with GPS, total stations, and leveling instruments.
• Good knowledge in processing measurement data and documentation in mapping tools
• Understanding of water and sewage systems, pipeline networks, and technical documentation.
• Driver's license B.
• Good computer skills and the ability to work systematically and accurately.
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.

We are looking for someone who is structured and systematic, flexible, interested in learning new things, and has good collaboration skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Knowledge of water and sewage systems
• Experience in GPS measurement
• Service experience
• Customer focus
